Kaitlyn's First Bath and Bottle

It sure was a big day at our house the day Kaitlyn received her first bath. Zachary is such a big helper and just loves Kaitlyn so much, so of course, he was front and center to help out.
Zachary just loves to body lotion. If he sees a bottle, he has to have some or a tantrum will erupt. Now, this doesn't mean he rubs the lotion on, Oh no, he loves to lick it. Needless to say, this has been an on going lesson that lotion is rubbed on and is not food. He did great though with rubbing it on Kaitlyn and only a little was licked off his hand.

Later that day, Zachary had the honors of giving Kaitlyn her first bottle. I wanted to see how she would do with a bottle and she did just great!!! Now my Mom can take here at night once in a while to give me a break.

And here is a picture of my little family of mine. I of course trying to slip in some sleep where ever I can.

Footprints

To keep my tradition going, I took Kaitlyn to get her hand and footprints set in clay. She really doesn't look too happy, but Mommy will be when I get to hang her prints up next to Zachary's. She is 13 days old here.

Do They Look Alike?

I have been asked if Kaitlyn looks like Zachary did. At first I didn't think so, but now that I compare their pictures, I guess they do. What do you think?

Coming Home

We came on from the hospital today, Saturday May 16th.

Kaitlyn all ready to go home

Mommy and Kaitlyn waiting for their ride

Can't say that Kaitlyn was too impressed with her car seat!

Zachary was waiting at the house for us to arrive and came flying out when he heard the car pull into the driveway. It made me feel so happy to have such a loving welcome!!!! This was the first time Zachary and I have been apart for more than a couple of hours, so I think it was hard on both of us.

Here is Zachary holding Kaitlyn. He has been so very gentle with her and just loves to give her kisses. And when he has had enough, he says "All Done".

Kaitlyn's Birth Day!!!

I can't believe I made it to the scheduled date!!! I thought for sure she would come early, but she decided to have pity on her mommy and go with the plan.

We arrived bright an early at the hospital at 7am for a 9am Cesarean, but unfortunately it turned out to be a very busy day full of emergencies, so Kaitlyn and I had to wait and wait and wait....

This is a pictures of me some where in that 7 hour long wait with nothing to do but stare at the walls.

Here is a my Mom all ready to go!!

At 2:06pm Kaitlyn Diane arrived!!! All 8 pounds 5 ounces and 19 1/2 inches of her. She had a bit too much fluid in her lungs which made the first couple of minutes scary, but she is 100% healthy with a set of strong lungs on her.

This is her very first photo

Later in the day, Zachary came to meet his sister for the firs time. He did okay. He kept saying "baby go, baby go".

That is until he got to see Kaitlyn eat, which was very intriguing. Now he calls it boobie milk.

And here is our first family photo.

Just Waiting For Kaitlyn to Arrive

I haven't been blogging for the past couple of weeks, since we haven't been doing anything but staying home. I'm either sleeping or watching movies with Zachary. I have been so tired and find it takes very little to wear me out. Poor Zachary is getting serious cabin fever at times. I am just thankful for his school days when he can get some time out.

I'm extremely thankful for my wonderful Mom that has taken over most everything that makes our daily lives run smoothly. She has even been keeping Zachary on his potty training, which he is doing great. I don't know what I would do with out her! I just never expected it to be so very hard to be pregnant with a toddler.

And onto a lighter side -

Today we were getting ready to go to the doctors to monitor Kaitlyn and my little helper decided I needed to get my shoes on so we could go bye-bye. Guess he figured all that was required to get out the door were my shoes and his sippy cup.

Nothing gets him more motivated these days than if I ask him if he wants to go bye-bye. He doesn't care were he is going, just as long as it is NOW!!! What a way to make me feel guilty.

An update on Kaitlyn - she is doing great! I am 7 days from my cesarean date and I honestly didn't think I would make it this far. I was sure she would come early, but she seems very happy to stay put, as of now. I'm tired and ready for her to arrive, but happy that she is doing so great.
