F is for Family and Fun
Zachary and I are still doing projects each week and having such a wonderful time learning the alphabet. This week we are working on the letter F. I try to go through words with Zachary that starts with the letter of the week. Probably doesn’t mean much to him at this point, but we have fun anyway. And this week has turned out to truly be a week for Family and Fun.
Zachary has been having a hard time adjusting to Kaitlyn’s arrival and I have been trying different things in an attempt to help us all get through this transition. Nothing really seemed to be working until this past week. I’ve been feeling so tired and I decided we would just stay home. To my surprise, this is just what did the trick! It has helped us all have a better attitude.
And I am really surprised since we have no AC and we have been having a heat wave. The past week the temp is either in the high 90’s or low 100’s. I would have thought our tempers would be short, but it has been quite the opposite. I pulled out the wadding pool and Zachary is always so delighted when his mommy and grandma go swimming with him. Kaitlyn isn’t so sure about the swimming, but takes everything in stride.
Our days seem to be filled with playing in the pool and projects. He just loves his projects and I can’t seem to keep up with his demand. I am finding am enjoying them just as much. I am also attempting to find small moments of time to enjoy my own hobbies like scrapbooking or crocheting.
Kaitlyn is starting to giggle more and more these days. She is a true delight and is such a trooper. She loves her big brother and puts up with his rough play. As Kaitlyn seems to be responding more and more, Zachary is enjoying his role as big brother more and more. I get such warm fuzzies to watch those two play together. I didn’t think it would start this soon, but Zachary loves to take toys to her and will sit for quite awhile with her. She just seems to adore him and seems to really only cry when she wants company.
And a few weeks ago, my Grandma came for a visit and we managed to get some pictures taken. We did a 4 generation picture, she is the oldest at 93 years old and Kaitlyn is the youngest at 3 months.
