Oh What a Joy!!!!

This week seemed to just go from bad to worst until today. I really wish I was the type of person that could just brush things off and move on in life, but I’m not. I unfortunately have to analyze things to death and slowly come down from the event. So true to form, I have been stewing over “stuff” this week unable to let it go.

I was hoping a little shopping therapy would help, so this morning I made a trek to Toys R Us to finally buy some toys for Kaitlyn. At 4 months, the girl is bored. Zachary could care less about toys at this age, but not Kaitlyn. She also loves to sit up and refuses to lie on her tummy. Again, way different than with Zachary. So, I splurged and got her a bumbo chair. Well, she just loves it! And she loves her new toys too. How could seeing such simple joy not lift my spirits?

And then there is Zachary, who was suppose to be taking a nap, but it was just way too hot in his room to sleep. So, instead sat in his chair and read his books. Thanks to his Grandma, he now loves to have a wet wash cloth to take with him to nap in an attempt to stay cool during these heat waves. I checked in on him and this is what I found.

To finish the afternoon off, I decided to go through the pictures from today. They just filled me with such tremendous love and joy that they instantly lifted me out of what was left of my mood. I feel so blessed to have these two kids in my life. I could never have imagined what they were going to bring to me. I know I waste so much time on trivial things, and am working on focusing more on my little family and what will make us stronger. And having a mommy who isn’t happy doesn’t accomplish that goal.

  3. What GREAT pictures! The one of Zachary reading, washcloth and all, literally made me laugh out loud. :)

I think you are such a strong woman and what an amazing role model you are to both of your children.
