I had heard of the book and thought it would be a wonderful new tradition to start with the kids. I was a bit disappointed once we completed reading the book for the first time. Zachary just didn't seem too interested in the idea and the thought of someone watching him and reporting to Santa each night rather bothered him. And it took some prodding and convincing to finally name him. So on November 28th Tootsie arrived on the scene.
But as timed passed, Zachary warmed to the idea and soon wouldn't wait to find Tootsie each morning. For 26 days, Tootise would watch Zachary and fly to the South Pole each night to report the days events to Santa. He would return before we awoke and found a new place to sit for the day. At times he was very creative in his spot for the day. Here a just a few.
Once Tootsie left us to return to Santa until next year, Zachary frequently inquires about him and want to know when he is coming back.
