Happy Birthday Mom

Today, we celebrated a very special event. My Mom turns 70 years old. She probably wouldn’t appreciate me sharing her age, but I really wanted to take this time to honor her.

Mom, you are such a rock in my life. I know you would laugh at me by saying that, but you are. You are constantly there for me when I need someone to lean on. You may not always know what to do, or feel like you help, but you are the one and only person in my life that is always there when I need help. You never judge me or make me feel stupid.

Since the kids have been born, you have been there even more for me. I’m not sure you knew quite what you were getting yourself into, but you are still here. I just adore how the kids love their grandma and it means the world to me that you have such a bond with them. I know you probably wouldn’t have wanted to be such a hands on Grandma, but having you in their daily lives is such a great blessing to me.

And now that I am a mom, I can marvel at what a wonderful Mom you were to me. You always seemed to have patience for me and seemed to know just how to guide me. Even though my children are still so very young, I can see how difficult that can be. I feel so lucky to have you as a sounding board and to straighten me out when expectations for myself get of proportion.

Thank you for being YOU!!!

I love you and hope you have a marvelous birthday.
